Job Description:

The Medical Assistant/Patient Services Rep provides patient-families with a positive experience at CHLA by performing a variety of patient care and clerical activities to assist physicians, nursing and clerical personnel. Schedule: Evening Shift (starts at 4:00 PM); shift varies and may include weekends/weekdays for after hours urgent care depending on operational needs.

Requirements:

  • 1+ years of experience in similar role preferred
  • Pediatrics experience preferred
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish or English/Mandarin), but not required
  • Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program required
  • California Medical Assistant certification preferred
  • American Heart Association CPR required

Nice to have:

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish or English/Mandarin)
  • Pediatrics experience
  • California Medical Assistant certification

  • Prepare customer invoices accurately and submit billing through customer portals when required to ensure timely and correct processing
  • Maintain aging schedules and conduct delinquency follow-up with customers to support collections efforts and improve cash flow
  • Reconcile customer accounts, investigate variances, and update records to ensure account balances are accurate and current
  • Generate receivables reports related to aging, account status, collections activity, and reconciliations for internal review
  • Assist with month-end accounts receivable close tasks, including reconciliations, documentation, and journal entry support as needed
