Assist with the provision of patient centered care in an outpatient clinic. Performs various clinical support tasks under clinical supervision within the organization's established scope of practice guidelines to ensure efficient patient flow.
Job Responsibility:
Assist with the provision of patient centered care in an outpatient clinic
Prepare and rooms the patient for exam by obtaining vital signs and gathering/documenting/updating pertinent health information
Perform laboratory procedures using principles of aseptic technique and standard precautions/infection control guidelines
Assist the physician/advance practice provider (APP) with procedures and surgeries
Administer routine medications, under physician/APP orders
Provide basic patient instructions on the performance of routine tasks or skills
Communicate with physicians and other members of the health care team to ensure smooth clinic flow
May perform basic and advanced clinical support tasks or skills based on the specialty
Requirements:
GED or HS Equivalency Diploma
LPN: Advanced training beyond High School that includes the completion of an accredited or approved program in Practical Nursing
MA: Completion of an accredited or approved program in Medical Assistant, or 2 years of verifiable full-time experience as a Medical Assistant within the last 5 years
LPN: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license issued by the state in which the team member practices
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 45 days unless department leader has determined it is not required
Good communication skills

CPR certification required upon hire or within 60 days of hire
Certification/Registration required
Non-certified MAs must obtain certification or registration within one year of hire with AMG approved certifying bodies
Must be able to successfully complete clinic-based training for all associates

Ability to work under stressful situations
Frequent periods of extended standing and sitting
Possible lifting and assisting of patients
Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance
