Medical Assistant II position in Family Medicine at Atrium Health Navicent The Medical Center. Full-time role with day and Saturday hours, responsible for clinical and administrative tasks within the Medical Assistant scope of practice.
Job Responsibility:
Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice
Performs rooming/visit tasks (vital signs, medication reconciliation, medical history, etc.)
Assists provider with or performs procedures as ordered
Performs lab related duties (venipuncture, specimen collection, POCT)
Maintains a clean work environment and ensures equipment is in working order
May assist with training and onboarding
May serve as a role champion or on a committee
Provide age-appropriate patient care
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required
Completion of an accredited or approved program in Medical Assistant, or 2 years of verifiable full-time experience as a Medical Assistant within the last 5 years
Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification required or needs to be obtained within 45 days
Certified or registered as a CMA or RMA by one of the listed National Organizations
Two years of experience in a clinical practice setting as a Medical Assistant
Ability to perform routine and complex technical skills within the Medical Assistant scope of practice
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficient computer skills
Demonstrates customer service skills
Must be able to perform physical requirements (sitting, standing, walking, lifting, etc.)
Ability to lift 35 pounds without assistance
Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch
Nice to have:
Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition, and Stabilization (PEARS) may be required within 1 year in select areas
Experience as a primary trainer for new teammates
Experience as a role champion or on a committee
