ChristianaCare Primary Care Pediatrics at Map II in Newark, DE is looking for a Medical Assistant I. As a Medical Assistant I, you will assist physicians during the examination and treatment of patients, whether through virtual or on-site appointments. This role is crucial for delivering quality patient care and encompasses various clinical and clerical duties within the medical practice.
Job Responsibility:
Greeting and assisting patients both virtually and on-site
Rooming patients and preparing them for visits by taking and recording vital signs
Performing point of care testing
Administering injections and medications
Conducting EKGs when needed
Supporting clinicians during examinations and procedures
Preparing treatment rooms with essential supplies
Completing patient-specific paperwork
Ensuring electronic medical records (EMR) are up to date with relevant test results
Handling patient callbacks with information as directed by providers
Following state guidelines for the sterilization of medical equipment
Managing prior authorizations, referrals, and medication refills
Scheduling tests and surgeries
Performing quality control on point of care testing equipment
Offering documentation assistance during provider examinations and procedures
Undertaking clerical tasks as assigned by supervisors
Working safely, adhering to departmental safety rules, and promptly reporting any unsafe conditions or violations
Requirements:
High School Graduate or GED required
A graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program or hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI)
Must possess excellent attention to detail, dependability, excellent communication skills, integrity, and technical skills
