Medical Assistant position within the Wake Forest Health Network: Greensboro Ear Nose Throat Associates - ENT department. Full-time role with a schedule of Monday - Friday 8-5 pm, 40 hours per week.
Job Responsibility:
Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice
Performs rooming/visit tasks such as vital signs, medication reconciliation, medical history, health maintenance, allergy review, and screenings
Assists provider with or performs procedures as ordered
Performs lab related duties such as venipuncture, specimen collection/labeling/packing, preparation of lab orders/requisitions, and results tracking
Administers medications and vaccines safely
Performs other duties as assigned such as medication refills, insurance authorizations, safety/regulatory log completion, patient messaging, medication/supply ordering, appointment scheduling, and referrals
Demonstrates effective and timely communication, teamwork, and appropriate escalation
Maintains a clean work environment ensuring instruments and equipment are cleaned appropriately
May assist with training and onboarding of other teammates
May serve as a role champion or on a committee
Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required
Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or structured military training per DD214 (or 2 years of verifiable full-time experience as a Medical Assistant within the last 5 years for IL/WI/Floyd & Navicent divisions)
Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification required (or to be obtained within 45 days for IL/WI/Floyd & Navicent)
Certified or registered as a CMA or RMA by a recognized national organization
Two years of experience in a clinical practice setting as a Medical Assistant
Ability to perform routine and complex technical skills within the Medical Assistant scope of practice
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficient computer skills including keyboarding, navigation within a windows operating system, and use of electronic mail
Demonstrates customer service skills
Must meet physical requirements including ability to lift 35 pounds
Nice to have:
Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition, and Stabilization (PEARS) may be required within 1 year in select areas
Successful completion of system approved program to become a primary trainer for new teammates
Demonstrates professional practice advancement through professional governance, safety coach, super-user, vaccine coordinator, SPICE or OSHA/IP certificate holder for unit
Achieves 6 points from the list of additional market responsibilities
