Medical Assistant Apprentice

• Provide essential clerical/office and progressive competency-based clinical support within a physician clinic
• Handle reception, telephone duties, and medical information retrieval
• Progress in clinical support, performing patient greeting, rooming, vital signs, EKG, and EMR documentation
• Facilitate communication and collaborate with the healthcare team and patients/families to identify and meet their comprehensive needs
• Progress as a competency-based medical assistant apprentice under direct supervision
• Assist with front office duties, including answering phones, scheduling appointments, and greeting patients
• Verify accuracy and update all demographic data in the electronic health record
• Identify communication and financial barriers and contribute to the patient plan of care
• Promote, advocate, and collaborate to protect each patient's health, safety, and rights
• Complete Competency-based skills Phase I, including Patient Rooming, Vital Signs, and EMR documentation
• Accurately gather and process all necessary information and data, completing all medical record, referral, billing, and medical treatment requirements

• High School Diploma/G.E.D.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association is required within 90 days of employment

Enrolled in PG based Medical Assistant training/apprenticeship program
