Job Description

Provide strategic and operational medical input to Medical - Marketing Business development. Build external relations and develop professional connections with medical communities and provide medical information on therapeutically assigned product support to achieve GSK Vietnam business objectives.

Job Responsibility

  • Build external relations and develop professional connections with medical communities and provide medical information on therapeutically assigned product support to achieve GSK Vietnam business objectives
  • Ensures excellence in execution of all governance processes, within the GSK Governance Framework including oversight of all studies, medical information, scientific engagement and promotional practices
  • Ensures compliance with industry and corporate ethics and with regulatory and legal framework and high standards of ethics in clinical, medical strategies and practices
  • Assist the MD to provide strategic medical input to medical affairs and commercialization plans and evidence generation plans, clinical studies and research programmes and partner with matrix colleagues (e.g. sales, marketing, market access, etc.) to ensure strategies and business plans are both patient and business focused, and adding value to the external expert
  • Partner with Key Opinion Leaders, healthcare associations/ organizations and overseas speakers to develop Continuing Medical Education Programs to ensure GSK prominence in the market
  • Support the development and implementation of assigned product and TA content in line with the strategy to respond to key questions raised by experts and planning for future activities
  • Act as an expert speaker at promotional and scientific events to disseminate information to groups of healthcare providers, ensuring compliance with the strictest codes of practice, guidelines and laws pertaining in the country, while stimulating clinical dialogue to gain different views and perspectives
  • Ensures timely, professionally and appropriate scientific engagement events in strict adherence with Global Scientific Engagement Principles and Standards
  • Identifies and engages the external community appropriately in robust scientific dialogue that generates insight and advances scientific and medical understanding. Provide strong technical, medical information to GSK Vx's interaction with external experts and stakeholders. To develop and reinforce the external scientific standing and credibility of GSK Vx among HCP and EE(s) by scientific engagement
  • Keep up to date medical literature/information on assigned therapeutic areas, competitor products and related scientific and safety data for communication to other Medical, Commercial and Regulatory personnel to ensure prompt dissemination and awareness of information as it emerges, to all concerned
  • Provide scientific education training for business partners such as the Medical Representatives by being the local scientific expert for a vaccine or group of vaccines
  • Ensure medical affairs support to local business in cases where medical rep have medical queries - with accompanied field visits and external presentations as appropriate in order to facilitate understanding and solve issues
  • To review product prescribing information for regulatory submission
  • Fully understand and comply with GSK standards and policies and with local codes of practice, guidelines and laws to ensure the strictest requirements are met

Requirements

  • Higher degree in life sciences: PhD, MSc or equivalent
  • Other professional healthcare provision qualification with experience (e.g. nurse practitioner, physician, surgeon, physiotherapist or pharmacist)
  • A significant (e.g. 3 years) amount of pharmaceutical industry experience in a role successfully engaging in scientific exchange with external experts
  • Medical Degree (MD, MBBS, MPharm, PharmD) is preferred
  • Expertise in current or near future GSK therapy area
  • Strong academic background having participated in, or led research projects and authored publications
  • Effective communication skills and ability to tailor information to different audiences appropriately
  • Ability to translates complex science into simple messages
  • Ability to communicate through multiple channels e.g. webinars
  • Solid grounding in clinical, medical and pharmaceutical science with the ability to rapidly assimilate specific and detailed knowledge in these areas
  • An understanding of clinical development, and statistical design and analysis
  • Effective networking, project management and collaboration skills to achieve business results
  • Strong business mindset and ability to balance cross-functional objectives
  • A sense of curiosity and a passion for continuous learning and development
