Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Medicaid Eligibility Specialist to support the review and processing of eligibility applications. This role is responsible for verifying applicant information, reviewing documentation for completeness and accuracy, and ensuring decisions are made in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a structured environment where accuracy, confidentiality, and rule-following are essential.

Job Responsibility:

  • Review Medicaid applications and supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy
  • Verify applicant information, including income, residency, household details, and other required eligibility criteria
  • Follow strict state, federal, and organizational guidelines when determining eligibility or next steps
  • Request missing or additional documentation and communicate clearly with applicants regarding requirements
  • Maintain accurate case notes, records, and system updates in accordance with documentation standards
  • Respond to applicant questions by phone, email, or in person with professionalism and empathy
  • Escalate complex cases or discrepancies as appropriate
  • Meet productivity, quality, and compliance standards in a fast-paced environment
  • Protect confidential personal and health-related information at all times

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in customer service, administrative support, or case management
  • Must have experience verifying information, reviewing documents, or following strict rules/policies as part of prior work
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, and eligibility requirements consistently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with data entry, case management systems, and Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
