The Media Governance & Strategy Assistant Manager plays a critical role in advancing structured paid media testing across GM by formalizing a consistent approach to designing tests that deliver actionable, repeatable insights at enterprise scale. This position ensures that all paid media tests have a focused purpose and align with the overarching goals and objectives of GM Media, while requiring strong collaboration with GM brand media, analytics, research, audience development, and all agency partners. You will demonstrate excellent communication skills, a data-driven approach to evaluating test viability and scalability, a deep understanding of media, data, and technology ecosystems, and the ability to provide concise feedback and clear, organized direction to a diverse set of internal stakeholders, external agencies, and vendors.
Job Responsibility:
Provide governance and strategic guidance to GM and agency teams on paid media testing, shaping direction and ensuring disciplined execution against priority learning agendas
Manage a comprehensive paid media testing tracker, including test details, timelines, results, and insights
Partner with brand media teams to understand goals and objectives and ensure tests align with paid media investment strategies
Evaluate and manage testing briefs to confirm proposals are logical, aligned with priority objectives, non-redundant, and scalable across the enterprise
Collaborate closely with GM research and analytics teams to ensure rigorous test structure, design, and measurement
Propose and shape new paid media tests that uncover opportunities to improve media effectiveness and efficiency
Synthesize test-and-learn insights into enterprise guardrails and a forward-looking roadmap for advancing paid media testing
Requirements:
7+ years of paid media experience, preferably in digital marketing, media planning, or an advertising agency environment
Bachelor Degree required
Comprehensive understanding of marketing principles, media channels and audience segmentation
Familiarity with data analysis tools, ad platforms and marketing technology stacks
Strong analytical skills, including use of data, and analytics tools to design tests, interpret results, and optimize performance
Proven ability to lead large, complex initiatives and influence cross-functional teams, including indirect reports
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of distilling complex data into clear, actionable insights
Skilled at building strong relationships and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
Proactive, organized self-starter with strong time management who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving media environment
Nice to have:
1-3+ years of media activation experience
Proven experience of using data to inform media testing and optimize campaign performance

Understanding of statistical concepts to design robust testing methodologies and interpret results
