This surgical nursing position offers a unique opportunity to work in a 32-bed med-surg unit specializing in post-operative care for patients who have undergone vascular, thoracic, colorectal, or general surgery. The role requires hands-on management of complex post-surgical patients, including those with chest tubes, drains, and various intravenous drips. You'll be coordinating care during night shifts, with the chance to develop advanced skills in caring for patients with diverse surgical diagnoses such as ARDS, esophagectomies, Whipple procedures, and sepsis. The unit shares responsibilities with the PCU, and floating to other units may be expected. If you’re comfortable with telemetry, complex wounds, trachs, and central line care, this assignment is tailored for you.
