This period of growth is a very exciting time for the company, and we are seeking a motivated and experienced Mechatronics Engineer to join our Research & Development team. Job Responsibility:
Design, model and integrate electronics, electromechanical and automated systems to meet product specifications and operational requirements
Develop and build prototypes, test rigs, and functional assemblies for new product concepts and product enhancements
Coordinate with mechanical, electronics and installation teams to capture, document and implement interdisciplinary design interfaces
Use MCAD and ECAD tools to create detailed 3D models, wiring diagrams, schematic diagrams, engineering drawings, and other technical documentation
Develop, implement and validate automation control strategies, including programming of PLCs/embedded controllers and basic automation scripts
Conduct system testing, fault analysis and iterative improvement to ensure functionality and reliability
Support integration activities, production handover, and troubleshooting during build and commissioning phases
Communicate technical progress, design decisions and test results to cross-functional teams and stakeholders
Lead the design and practical implementation of mechatronic systems, balancing mechanical, electrical, and control requirements
Operate and assist with manufacturing machinery and test equipment to verify design performance and system behaviour
Monitor project timelines, technical risks and design changes to support delivery within agreed schedules
Interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately to develop compliant and manufacturable solutions
Execute quality control checks throughout the engineering lifecycle, identifying issues and facilitating corrective action
Perform hand-on assembly tasks and system integration activities where required
Maintain accordance with health & safety practices and housekeeping standards
Record engineering, test data and project documentation for traceability and continuous improvement
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting practical ways to enhance quality, performance, and efficiency
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics or a related field
Demonstrated experience in multidisciplinary engineering roles combining mechanical, electrical and automation tasks, including time on the shop floor
Demonstrated experience in electromechanical product research and development
Proficiency with MCAD and ECAD modelling, technical documentation and engineering drawings
Experience with industrial robots and cobots in a sheet metal and welding environment
Experience in rapid prototyping and 3D printing
Hands-on experience with measurement tools, control systems and testing equipment
Strong logical problem-solving ability and analytical mindset
Programming skills for control and automation (e.g., PLC logic, Python or C/C++)
Excellent communication skills. Ability to work effectively, independently and in multidisciplinary teams
Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement
Nice to have:
Previous experience in automation, robotics, or precision manufacturing environments
Familiarity with ECAD (e.g. EPLAN Electric P8, EPLAN Harness prod and Altium) and MCAD (e.g. Inventor Professional, SolidWorks) tools
Understanding of production automation equipment and manufacturing control systems
Knowledge of quality management systems like ISO9001
Exposure to magnetic or highly engineered bespoke product domains
