The First Line Support (FLS) Production Engineer is responsible for providing first-line troubleshooting support to ensure uninterrupted production output. This role uses hands-on troubleshooting with structured problem-solving methodologies to address complex technical challenges, escalates issues when necessary, and drives continuous improvement through documentation, analysis, and collaboration. The First Line Support Production Engineer also supports product SPC (Statistical Process Control), manages disturbance notifications, and works closely with quality teams to maintain and improve material review processes, ensuring optimal product flow and minimal disruptions.
Job Responsibility
Provide real-time troubleshooting support for production issues to minimize downtime and optimize output
Capture learnings from troubleshooting efforts and use them to write & enhance OCAPs
Execute ‘As New’ based on input and documentation from D&E/Module PE to ensure product quality meets defined standards
Create ETPs, task lists, and DOs related to escalation management, tooling maintenance, and troubleshooting
Document all disturbances and resolutions accurately for future learning
Escalate issues to senior FLS when resolution cannot be achieved independently
Drive structured problem resolution through detailed investigation of recurring issues
Support and maintain SPC tracking for tooling and products
Perform pre-DRB activities as directed by Technical Lead or equivalent
Support, maintain, and execute by participation in the DRB/MRB process
Create and manage E-Scraps for scrap parts to ensure traceability and accountability
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and projects
Perform ‘cherry picks’ to select and evaluate specific parts for quality and process validation
Decision making and creation of ODR for non-structural issue
Participate and support in key relevant meetings, and ensuring engineering alignment with production and cross-sectoral teams
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics engineering with 2+ years of experience in a production engineering environment
Master's Degree in Mechanical, electrical or Mechatronics engineering and prior internship experience within a production environment
Nice to have
Exposure to SPC and data-driven process control
Preferred exposure to mechatronic systems combining mechanics, electronics, and control systems with troubleshooting experience
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
Analyze MATLAB runs and plot data from database
Exposure in escalation management and technical documentation
Effective collaboration with cross-functional teams
