The BCI Mechatronics Design and Release Engineer (DRE) will be responsible for the integrated Center Stack (ICS) Switchbank design, development, packaging, testing and releasing. The DRE will interface with various stakeholders to define the component level & vehicle level functional specifications.
Job Responsibility:
Develop & ensure that the ICS is compliant to all component level specifications
Participate in Product Assurance Planning (Program Management)
Manage the supplier of the component
and component DFMEA, DVRR, and Timing Proactive Quality Plan
Participate in Reactive Quality Problem Solving and will be supporting Supplier Quality during Process Sign-off (PS) and PFMEA reviews
Responsible for releasing components via Change Management System (CN's) and will interface with EMEA, APAC and LATAM counterparts on global commonality
Responsible for root causing & resolving launch, serial life and quality issues related to the ICS using the Global Issues Management System (GIMS)
Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) from an ABET accredited university
3+ years of switch and/or electronic ECU development and releasing experience
Full understanding of automotive electronic ECU development process
Experience managing or developing embedded software
Strong leadership skills (prepared to lead a supplier team)
Due to in office work requirements, the candidate must be onsite at Auburn Hills, Michigan or at a local suppliers facility a minimum of 3 days per week
Must be willing to travel to Mexico (supplier plant), and any Client Assembly plants in Canada or Mexico
Experience with switches
Nice to have:
Master of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university
Experience managing suppliers and/or engineers
Familiar with Ethernet, CAN/CAN-FD and/or LIN bus communication protocols
