As a Mechanical Tradesperson, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing locomotives, rail cars, wagons, plant, and infrastructure to ensure they meet safety and reliability standards. Your efforts will help keep freight services running smoothly.
Job Responsibility:
Performing routine corrective maintenance and fault repairs on rollingstock
Reporting actual work completed versus scheduled tasks
Adhering to technical and operational specifications for all work performed
Keeping detailed records of asset condition, maintenance programs, and costs
Advancing work procedures and practices to drive continuous quality improvement
Repairing and maintaining large diesel-electric locomotives and related equipment
Providing support to other WA maintenance depots as per EA agreement
Requirements:
Strong dedication to safety
Current unrestricted WA driver’s license
Mechanical Trade Certificate or equivalent qualification
Proven ability to interpret technical instructions and drawings
Extensive knowledge of equipment functions, defects, and fault-finding
Nice to have:
Experience with the repair, maintenance, and overhaul of locomotives or heavy industrial plant
Experience with Cummins, EMD, GE, GM industrial/power generation repairs and diagnostics
