Job Responsibility
Assemble, install, test, checkout and inspect mechanical spacecraft assemblies by interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings and specifications, and written assembly, integration, and test procedures
Visually inspect mechanical assemblies to drawings, engineering specifications, and written assembly, integration, and test procedures
Operate a wide range of machine tools. Included but not limited to, drill press, grinders, chop saw, power, and hand tools
Mix and apply epoxy materials
Prepare and bond components to composite structures
Support other mechanical areas defined by Millennium Space Systems Leadership as business needs require
Perform incidental related duties as assigned or required
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED
Experience reading basic blueprints
Experience following written and verbal work instructions
Experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment
Experience using basic Microsoft Office and office computing systems
Experience with mechanical trouble shooting, disassembly and repair
Capable of lifting 20lbs or more on a frequent basis
Ability to stand and move (reach, bend, or stoop) to handle products for extended periods of time with only short breaks
Nice to have
More than 1 year of experience interpreting manufacturing blueprints
More than 1 year of experience mixing epoxy materials
More than 1 year of experience with the following types of hand tools (calipers, digital optical micrometers, depth gages, thread gages, go no go gages, etc.)
More than 1 year of experience with aircraft tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, micro bonder, vacuum gauges and heat blankets
