The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Systems Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving producibility and manufacturing excellence through detailed drawing reviews, process analysis, and engineering release activities. This role requires a proactive individual who can develop work instructions, lead root cause and corrective action (RCCA) efforts, and support production and supply chain operations. The candidate will also contribute to tooling and equipment development, lean manufacturing initiatives, and project management to ensure efficient and cost-effective production.
Job Responsibility:
Review drawings and perform producibility and variation analyses to ensure manufacturability and process capability
Manage engineering release processes and develop work instructions to support production readiness
Lead Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) efforts to resolve production issues affecting performance, cost, or schedule
Drive process automation and implement lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency and reduce waste
Provide production and supply chain support to optimize workflows and material availability
Design and develop tooling and equipment to meet manufacturing needs
Participate in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to integrate technical solutions across disciplines and maintain program architecture
Develop and execute manufacturing plans aligned with program goals
Coordinate and implement new engineering principles, advanced technologies, and validate production readiness of complex solutions
Manage projects to ensure timely delivery of manufacturing improvements
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship
An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required
Nice to have:
Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MESci, GOLDesp, or similar)
Proficiency in CAD tools such as CATIA and ENOVIA
Programming skills to support automation and data analysis
Knowledge of automation and machine learning applications in manufacturing
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting
