Requirements

Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to effectively motivate and coach diverse, multinational teams
Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems, safety requirements, and effective cost and schedule management
Excellent client relations abilities and strong communication skills
Minimum of 15 years of construction management experience, with at least five years in design/build for mechanical systems
a four-year degree in building science, construction management, or engineering is preferred
Prior OCONUS experience is highly preferred
Minimum of a Secret security clearance required

Job Responsibility

Collaborate closely with the Project Superintendent, Project Manager, and Quality Control Manager to develop and finalize operational plans, schedules, and job layouts
Oversee daily operations of crafts and subcontractors, delegating tasks through foremen and subcontractor representatives
Maintain effective communication with project staff to ensure compliance with project drawings, specifications, and timelines
Participate in weekly progress meetings with subcontractors and assist in preparing plans for material handling and storage
Conduct quantity surveys and estimates for plumbing and mechanical systems based on project plans and specifications

Strong Mechanical background
Up to date technical knowledge and mechanical skills
Computer literacy and preferably expertise in computerized equipment control systems
Understanding of Provincial Commercial Regulatory rules
Clear knowledge of Provincial OH&S
Experience in Preventative Maintenance Programs
Must have or be able to obtain an Ontario Driver's license and have a safe driving record
Proven supervisory skills

Prior experience working within a union environment is an asset

Job Responsibility

Strengthening established processes to ensure the delivery of a successful Preventative Maintenance program including: Ensure a strong preventative inspection program designed to identify and repair mechanical issues in advance of failure
Proper identification, planning, repair and follow-up of mechanical deficiencies
Establish mechanical priorities, timeframes and cost-estimates
Managing a mid-sized mixed fleet ranging from plow trucks to graders to excavators to light equipment in multiple worksites
Successfully leading a team of mechanical staff while simultaneously developing new talent for the future
Establishing and communicating clear expectations on performance and quality based on industry standards and timelines
Communicating mechanical timelines and schedule to related team members
Coordinating seasonal equipment readiness programs
