My client is seeking an experienced Mechanical Services Manager to take ownership of mechanical maintenance across their site and a small number of remote sites. This is a varied, hands-on management role where no two days are the same. Allocating work via the CAFM system (training provided)
Acting as the technical lead for mechanical issues - diagnosing problems and deciding whether work is completed in-house or escalated to contractors
Managing and reviewing contractor performance, contracts, KPIs, and renewals
Reviewing service reports and quotations, identifying what's essential vs. advisory
Working closely with the Compliance Team on statutory maintenance, audits, and remedial actions
Feeding technical input into Health & Safety, including Gas Safety and Legionella
Supporting small mechanical projects and minor adaptations
Taking a forward-looking, strategic view of asset lifecycles and future maintenance needs
Being visible - this is office-based but not desk-bound, with hands-on involvement when required
Requirements:

Proven experience managing mechanical maintenance in a complex estate
Strong knowledge of heating, ventilation, water, and gas systems
Experience managing contractors and reviewing technical reports
Understanding of statutory compliance and H&S responsibilities

Experience in large or multi-site organisations
Planon or Agresso experience
Experience in education sector
What we offer:
