Job Description:

An exciting opportunity exists for a proven Service Technician to join the elite maintenance facility at in Rydalmere. You will be the hands-on expert responsible for the overhaul, repair, and precision testing of critical rail components, ensuring every product meets the highest safety and performance standards. You will be refurbishing and testing high-tech equipment—including air compressors, brake calipers, and pantographs—utilizing your mechanical expertise to keep Australia’s transport networks moving.

Job Responsibility:

  • Responsible for the overhaul, repair, and precision testing of critical rail components, ensuring every product meets the highest safety and performance standards
  • Refurbishing and testing high-tech equipment—including air compressors, brake calipers, and pantographs

Requirements:

  • Trade Qualified: A Mechanical Trade certificate, Diploma in Engineering, or equivalent is essential
  • Proven Experience: At least 3 years in a workshop or engineering environment focusing on mechanical component repair and testing
  • Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • experience with air compressors or Rollingstock/Light Automotive is highly regarded
  • Compliance Ready: Must hold a valid OH&S White Card and be able to pass a pre-employment medical (Drug & Alcohol) and Police Check
  • High Standards: A keen eye for detail when recording test outcomes and signing off on engineering documentation
  • Bonus Points: If you hold a valid LF Forklift License or an RIW Card, we want to hear from you

Nice to have:

  • Experience with air compressors or Rollingstock/Light Automotive is highly regarded
