Syntech Recruitment are partnering with our client to recruit a skilled Senior Mechanical Quantity Surveyor. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious professional with a strong mechanical background to join a reputable company and contribute to a range of challenging projects within the mechanical services sector.

Job Responsibility

  • Assess and evaluate terms and conditions of sub-contracts, focusing on risk, programme, terms & conditions, and design responsibilities
  • Prepare tender risk analyses and contract documentation, including bills of quantities
  • Identify, analyse, and develop responses to commercial risks
  • Advise on contractual claims, analyse outcomes, and provide reports as required
  • Present monthly reports for each project or business review, adhering to company formats and standards
  • Assist in preparing monthly commercial reports
  • Support the Estimation Department in preparing estimates as needed
  • Enhance client relationships to maximise current and future opportunities
  • Take off, price, and track variations for submission to clients
  • Manage tender returns with timely submissions

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in a related role with a strong background in mechanical services
  • Certificate or Diploma in Building Services, Mechanical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Studies, or similar
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent time management and attention to detail
  • Ability to maximise productivity and meet challenging goals
  • Driving licence preferred but not essential
  • Proficiency in analytical skills, attention to detail, and working with Bills of Quantities (BOQ)
  • Experience in contract documentation, tender preparation, and quantity surveying
  • Mechanical sector experience is essential, including work on HVAC systems, plumbing, fire protection, and industrial piping projects
  • Familiarity with mechanical installations across sectors such as healthcare, commercial buildings, or data centres is highly valued
