Job Description

Morson Edge is currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Technician to support Typhoon aircraft operations within a fast-paced operational flying environment overseas. This role is focused on delivering high-quality scheduled mechanical maintenance, ensuring all work is completed in line with strict technical, regulatory, and airworthiness standards. It’s an excellent opportunity to work on a world-class fast jet platform within a highly professional defence aviation setting.

Job Responsibility

  • Carry out scheduled mechanical maintenance in line with approved maintenance programmes
  • Conduct inspections on aircraft and associated systems
  • Perform installation, repair, servicing, overhaul, modification embodiment, and testing of aircraft components and systems
  • Diagnose faults and support aircraft system recovery activities
  • Ensure the quality and completeness of all work carried out on aircraft or components
  • Work in accordance with SMU Quality Systems and applicable technical orders
  • Accurately complete all aircraft documentation, maintenance records, and SMU forms
  • Maintain valid personal authorisations for all tasks undertaken
  • Identify and report any training or competency gaps to supervisors
  • Comply with all quality systems, procedures, and technical publications
  • Complete all mandated training and maintain certification validity
  • Undertake additional duties as required to support operational delivery

Requirements

  • Completion of National Secondary Education
  • Qualified to Level 2 Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years’ post-qualification experience within an operational aircraft maintenance environment, or Completion of a recognised aircraft engineering apprenticeship programme
  • Demonstrated completion of relevant tasks/projects within a Technician Logbook
  • Good level of English language proficiency
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) membership at the appropriate level
  • Ability to work within a regulated and safety-critical environment
  • Must meet all applicable regulatory and export control requirements

  • Assemble mechanical components of wind turbines using hand tools, power tools, and overhead cranes
  • Follow detailed work instructions and engineering drawings to ensure accurate builds
  • Perform torquing, alignment, and fit-up of large components such as gearboxes, bearings, and shafts
  • Conduct safety inspections and maintain a clean, organized work area to present work related injuries
  • Exceed our production benchmarks by completing specific tasks within the designated timeframe
  • Handle materials by lifting, positioning, and/or removing them from the work area as needed
  • Collaborate with quality and engineering teams to improve assembly processes
  • Participate in internal audits and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support other production areas as needed and as assigned by the supervisor
  • In coordination with PQA and Engineering Departments, conduct root cause analysis and troubleshooting of potential production problems
