Maintenance workers are responsible to keep the mechanical equipment reliable while supporting the 24/7 plant operations. A Mechanic B is expected to be able to perform all functions of a Mechanic C including the below expectations.
Job Responsibility:
Perform inspections, repairs, and rebuilds on all plant operating equipment
Conducts accurate PMs
Must be able to troubleshoot, service and repair all plant operating equipment
Must be able to disassemble and rebuild all types of crushing, screening, and conveying equipment
Understand the installation and maintenance of all types of bearings
Perform shaft alignments using precision tools
Knowledge of pneumatic systems
Able to use equipment manuals, parts lists or blueprints to properly install, repair, or order parts
Process knowledge of the CMMS System to ensure that work orders and checklists are complete accurately
Ensure all inventory parts are correctly charged from store
Ensure all parts are available before starting job
Must be well versed on all aspects of safety
Comply with company, state, and governmental health and safety regulations at all times
Complete and document Workplace Inspections in a timely manner
Ensure maintenance tools are kept in good condition, repaired or replaced when necessary
Upgrade skills by participating in vendor and company-designated training
Train on any new equipment installations
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
3+ years or mechanical experience in an industrial manufacturing environment or the ability to demonstrate mechanical experience including some welding and minor equipment troubleshooting
Proficient knowledge of mechanical, hydraulics and pneumatics to assist in troubleshooting equipment failures
Industrial background with good troubleshooting skills
Working knowledge of mechanical equipment in an industrial plant is required
Read and understand one-line diagrams & schematics
Perform basic mathematical calculations is required
Must have a telephone and be open to callouts
Must be able to work extended shift to complete repairs and keep major and critical equipment running
Effectively communicate and interact with supervisors, managers, and peers
Must have a valid Texas driver’s license
Self-Starter and able to work with minimal supervision
Tolerate working outside in severe weather conditions as well as exposure to industrial high temperature, noise and dust
Access all areas within a site which could include heights of 120 feet, confined spaces, climbing ladders or stairs, and accessing tunnels
Lift up to 75 pounds
Work shift work, seven days a week including holidays and be flexible to schedule changes, including overtime
Nice to have:
Previous experience operating heavy equipment is desired
Demonstrate the ability to operate a computer preferred
