Job Description:

I am seeking a Multi-Skilled Building Services Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical Bias) to join my client's team at a prestigious site in Blackfriars, London. This is a unique opportunity to work a 4-day week (Monday to Thursday, 16:30 - 02:00), providing maintenance support in a high-profile commercial environment. The role involves planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive repairs, and fault-finding on mechanical and building services systems, with some basic electrical and plumbing responsibilities.

Job Responsibility:

Perform PPM and reactive maintenance on HVAC systems, pumps, motors, valves, AHUs, FCUs, and general building services
Conduct routine servicing, troubleshooting, and repairs on heating and ventilation systems
Carry out minor plumbing tasks, including pipework repairs, leak detection, and drainage maintenance
Assist with basic electrical work, including emergency lighting checks and minor wiring tasks
Conduct compliance checks, including fire alarm testing, water temperature monitoring (L8 Legionella control), and BMS system checks
Work collaboratively with other engineers and subcontractors to ensure smooth site operations
Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health & safety regulations and company policies
Maintain accurate records of completed work and report any critical issues to the site supervisor
Conduct risk assessments and adhere to permit-to-work procedures when required

Requirements:

NVQ Level 2/3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, or Building Services
Proven experience working in a commercial building services maintenance role
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, pumps, motors, and pressurisation units
Basic electrical and plumbing knowledge
Understanding of health & safety regulations and compliance checks (L8, COSHH, LOLER, PUWER, etc.)
Full UK driving licence (for company car use)
