Amentum is an Industry Partner of the Department of Defense (DOD) SkillBridge Program. The position will be in located at the Amentum GE Commercial site in Greenville, SC. Amentum is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance SkillBridge Opportunity to join our Industrial Facility Maintenance team in Greenville, SC. This position requires an understanding of mechanical maintenance concepts, a great attitude, and the willingness to learn technical skills in an industrial/ manufacturing environment. The Mechanical Maintenance SkillBridge Opportunity is responsible for assisting higher level technicians in responding to work orders and providing service and feedback to the customer on all work orders, troubleshooting, and providing preventive maintenance on the facility mechanical equipment, fixtures, and systems.
Job Responsibility:
Assist higher level technicians in responding to work orders
Provide service and feedback to the customer on all work orders
Troubleshoot and provide preventive maintenance on facility mechanical equipment, fixtures, and systems
Perform preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and trouble calls
Assist senior facility maintenance mechanics in responding to work orders
Perform Preventive Maintenance on various types of equipment as scheduled
Conduct general maintenance of equipment
Maintain, operate and troubleshoot mechanical systems and equipment such as pumps, bearings, blowers, fans, gearboxes, air handlers
Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and perform required preventative maintenance actions such as lubrication, cleaning, filter changes
Perform preventive maintenance as scheduled in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
Recommend measures to improve maintenance methods and equipment performance
Understand company policies and enforce safety regulations
Safely perform functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis and lockout/tagout procedures and wearing PPE
Operate a variety of equipment such as hand tools, laptop computers and diagnostic hardware to perform work
Demonstrate flexibility in day-to-day activities and scheduling for the benefit of the customer
Requirements:
High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent
Currently Serving in the Military transitioning to the Civilian sector in the next year
Minimum of three years maintenance experience
Must be willing to work overtime when required
Must be at least 18 years or older
Pass a pre-employment substance abuse test
Ability to obtain a security access badge at client’s location
Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs
Ability to regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladder, stepladders, and stairs
Ability and flexibility to bend/stoop, squat, move in a 90-degree fashion, stretch/reach repetitively
Ability to walk throughout the plant during shift
Use of a Company/Client approved utility knife
Ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress
Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed
