The Mechanical Fitter carries out routine and reactive maintenance on water and sewer infrastructure within the service delivery area. Additionally, the Mechanical Fitter may be called upon to deliver small capital works projects as required. The Mechanical Fitter undertakes work in a safe and efficient manner developing a sound knowledge of water control procedures necessary to operate the distribution system, thus ensuring a safe and secure supply of water to all consumers is maintained
Job Responsibility
Perform routine, preventive, and reactive maintenance on water and wastewater treatment and delivery infrastructure
Fault finding, equipment repair, installation, commissioning, and decommissioning of assets and plant systems
Provide technical support to engineers and operational teams
Assist with scoping and estimating works
Ensure all maintenance activities are performed safely and efficiently
Promote teamwork, inclusion, and continuous improvement
Support apprentices
Collaborate across disciplines
Foster strong relationships with trade partners
Requirements
Current Drivers Licence
Experience on wastewater treatment plants and all equipment located within the plant (Desirable)
Experience in the Water industry or similar industry
National Licence to perform High Risk work (Desirable)
Trade Certificate in a relevant mechanical discipline
Willingness to upskill and undertake additional training for ongoing development
Successful applicants must obtain and maintain a satisfactory critical infrastructure background check in accordance with AusCheck requirements (mandatory)
