Job Description:

This role involves service and repair of industrial air and gas compressors, gas engines and associated equipment. You will be a Mechanical Fitter (Service Technician) working mainly in local projects in Lytton, QLD and once in a while you will be working in inter-state projects.

Job Responsibility:

  • Scheduled maintenance and overhaul of Compressors, Gas Engines, Rotating Machinery & associated equipment
  • The accurate and timely recording of data related to work performed
  • Fault finding and problem solving
  • Installation and commissioning of equipment
  • Working closely with sales and service personnel
  • Maintaining relationships with customers to promote and retain business
  • Participation in training and development opportunities and sharing knowledge with colleagues

Requirements:

  • Relevant formal education and training (Trade Qualifications in Fitting and Machining or Equivalent)
  • Experience in working with Compressors
  • Experience with Gas Engines and /or associated equipment in the oil and gas industry is highly regarded
  • A willingness to travel domestically, and occasionally to remote locations for service work at client facilities (Field Service)
  • A current Drivers License

Nice to have:

Experience with Gas Engines and /or associated equipment in the oil and gas industry

  • Conduct routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on CNC, in-situ machining tools (line boring & portable CNC) and manual machine tools – lathes, mills, borers, wire EDM, laser cladding, knife cutting, welding, compressors and general workshop equipment
  • Carry out mechanical fitting tasks on machine components including spindles, bearings, gears, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Perform machine alignments, calibrations, and adjustments to maintain accuracy and precision to engineering specifications
  • Work closely with operators, and workshop managers to minimize downtime and maximize machine uptime
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, complete compliance and service paperwork
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety procedures and quality standards on all maintenance activities
  • Support installation and commissioning of new or rebuilt machine tools as required
  • Assist in other areas as directed by the Workshop Manager
