Job Description:

This is a hands-on Mechanical Fitter role covering a broad range of fixed and mobile plant equipment across two manufacturing sites. You’ll oversee the day-to-day mechanical performance of production and mobile equipment and report to the Operations Manager. Working closely with a boilermaker and another fitter, you’ll help shape a proactive maintenance culture. The role can potentially progress toward a supervisory position within 12–18 months assuming growth levels are maintained.

Job Responsibility:

  • Conduct preventative maintenance and urgent repairs on 4 main production units – encompassing conveyors, belts, motors, gearboxes, pneumatic cylinders, solenoids & air compressors
  • Maintain inventory and documentation for plant maintenance and parts
  • Uphold safety standards and maintain compliance
  • Support performance and basic servicing of trucks, forklifts, loaders, and bobcats (desired but not essential)

Requirements:

  • Background in mechanical maintenance, across conveyors, belts, motors, pulleys and drives
  • Understanding of safety compliance and preventative maintenance
  • Willingness to mentor others and move into a leadership role
  • An understanding of silo’s and tanker trucks
  • Forklift licence (preferred)
  • Ability to work independently and across departments

Nice to have:

  • Exposure to vehicle maintenance
  • Welding and/or diesel experience
