The Field Engineer is responsible for scheduling, work coordination, and managing all on-site Field Engineering activities. This position is deemed ‘safety sensitive’ due to the fact that a person improperly performing the essential or marginal functions of the job would constitute a threat to the health or safety of the employee, the employee’s co-workers, and/or the public at large.
Job Responsibility:
Responsible for all scheduling and work coordination between alignment group personnel and site management as well as all on site work activities
Prepare and maintain a detailed schedule for drawings as well as keeping the latest release for construction prints in the field for the alignment personnel
Responsible for tracking all structural and mechanical alignment work and supply a weekly report of the status of items
Assure that all technical submittals (i.e. grout releases, final drawing reports, job hazard analysis and daily logs) are issued to the Quality Control Department to be signed and documented
Review request from customer and site management and schedule work load accordingly
Ensure all Requests for Information are answered in a timely manner
Responsible for following all aspects of specifications in regards to the structural and mechanical alignment. Must follow up on extra work items
Responsible for all issues involving the alignment group
Act as primary contact with the customer and site management
The ability to work overtime and regular, punctual attendance is required
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management is required
Must be familiar with AISC and OSHA requirements
Must be detail oriented
Must have excellent oral/written communication skills
Must be proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project
