Job Description:

The Field Engineer is responsible for scheduling, work coordination, and managing all on-site Field Engineering activities. This position is deemed ‘safety sensitive’ due to the fact that a person improperly performing the essential or marginal functions of the job would constitute a threat to the health or safety of the employee, the employee’s co-workers, and/or the public at large.

Job Responsibility:

  • Responsible for all scheduling and work coordination between alignment group personnel and site management as well as all on site work activities
  • Prepare and maintain a detailed schedule for drawings as well as keeping the latest release for construction prints in the field for the alignment personnel
  • Responsible for tracking all structural and mechanical alignment work and supply a weekly report of the status of items
  • Assure that all technical submittals (i.e. grout releases, final drawing reports, job hazard analysis and daily logs) are issued to the Quality Control Department to be signed and documented
  • Review request from customer and site management and schedule work load accordingly
  • Ensure all Requests for Information are answered in a timely manner
  • Responsible for following all aspects of specifications in regards to the structural and mechanical alignment. Must follow up on extra work items
  • Responsible for all issues involving the alignment group
  • Act as primary contact with the customer and site management
  • The ability to work overtime and regular, punctual attendance is required

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management is required
  • Must be familiar with AISC and OSHA requirements
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Must have excellent oral/written communication skills
  • Must be proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project
