You’ll play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of mechanical systems supporting major nuclear infrastructure. Working at Hinkley Point C, you’ll contribute directly to the safe and efficient construction of next‑generation nuclear reactors, helping drive progress across critical systems while developing your own engineering expertise in a highly regulated environment. Your work will support EDF’s journey towards An Electric Britain, helping deliver reliable, low‑carbon power to millions of homes.
Job Responsibility:
Supporting mechanical studies by reviewing, clarifying, and progressing engineering deliverables
Performing stress analysis and equipment anchorage assessments, including hand calculations
Investigating and resolving technical issues arising during manufacturing, construction, and installation
Reviewing subcontractor calculations and drawings to ensure compliance with project standards
Collaborating with designers, suppliers, and stakeholders across multidisciplinary teams
Requirements:
Background in mechanical engineering or a related scientific discipline
Experience in specification, design, procurement, or installation of engineering components
Ability to perform mechanical calculations, including stress analysis or equipment anchorage assessments
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear technical documentation
Experience reviewing or supporting engineering deliverables and resolving technical queries across stakeholders
