Reporting to a supervisor/manager, the Lab Technician 1 provides technical support for test lab activities, equipment qualification, and test method validation (TMV) development. The role involves performing bench-level engineering tests for design verification (DV), stability, feasibility, and test method development (TMD) while working under supervision to complete assignments.
Job Responsibility:
Execute test requests and support lab testing activities
Handle minimally complex problems with moderate supervision
Support equipment qualification (IQ, OQ) and TMV development
Assist in test method development (TMD) and verification/validation (Ver/Val) efforts
Ensure compliance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)
Troubleshoot test inconsistencies and communicate solutions with requestors
Assist in developing tools for process simplification in lab operations
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree (BS) – No prior experience required
Associate degree (AAS) – No prior experience required
High school diploma – Minimum 4 years of experience in a regulated industry or laboratory setting
Proficient written and verbal communication
Strong organizational skills and teamwork ability
Attention to detail with accurate data collection and reporting
Developing technical writing and root cause analysis skills
Ability to operate and troubleshoot mechanical test equipment (preferred)
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook, and Teams (preferred)
Experience with Instron Software programs (Blue-Hill 3, Blue-Hill Universal) and Tensile/Compression Testing is preferred
Strong math skills and ability to work in a regulated laboratory environment
