Job Description:

Reporting to a supervisor/manager, the Lab Technician 1 provides technical support for test lab activities, equipment qualification, and test method validation (TMV) development. The role involves performing bench-level engineering tests for design verification (DV), stability, feasibility, and test method development (TMD) while working under supervision to complete assignments.

Job Responsibility:

  • Execute test requests and support lab testing activities
  • Handle minimally complex problems with moderate supervision
  • Support equipment qualification (IQ, OQ) and TMV development
  • Assist in test method development (TMD) and verification/validation (Ver/Val) efforts
  • Ensure compliance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)
  • Troubleshoot test inconsistencies and communicate solutions with requestors
  • Assist in developing tools for process simplification in lab operations

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS) – No prior experience required
  • Associate degree (AAS) – No prior experience required
  • High school diploma – Minimum 4 years of experience in a regulated industry or laboratory setting
  • Proficient written and verbal communication
  • Strong organizational skills and teamwork ability
  • Attention to detail with accurate data collection and reporting
  • Developing technical writing and root cause analysis skills
  • Ability to operate and troubleshoot mechanical test equipment (preferred)
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook, and Teams (preferred)
  • Experience with Instron Software programs (Blue-Hill 3, Blue-Hill Universal) and Tensile/Compression Testing is preferred
  • Strong math skills and ability to work in a regulated laboratory environment
