Job Responsibility:
Lead a mechanical engineering team ensuring timely delivery, staff professional development and continual capability growth
Manage and mentor staff
Identify and assess design risks, authorised as the Product Risk Acceptor for LOW risks
Ensure that design engineering work is done to defined quality standards, including effective information and configuration management
Develop and review engineering work with standards agreed with the Chief Engineer
Evolve the Mechanical Engineering capability enabling EOS to deliver to business objectives
Develop additional bespoke parts for world-leading Remote Weapon Stations, adapting the RWS to varied customer requirements within tight project deadlines
Requirements:
Over 10 years’ experience within mechanical design or in similar role
Over 3 years’ experience leading teams and/or managing stakeholders
Familiarity with Defence regulatory frameworks and associated processes is desirable
Extensive knowledge of design, Australian Standards, ASME codes
Experience in design tools like 3D modelling, Ansys will be added advantage
Eligible for charted status and registration in the ACT
Must be an Australian citizen and be eligible for a security clearance
Nice to have:
Familiarity with Defence regulatory frameworks and associated processes
Experience in design tools like 3D modelling, Ansys
