Job Responsibility
Support the design and modification of mechanical components and systems specific to incineration and thermal processing
Use CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar) to create and revise technical drawings and plant layouts
Assist with stress analysis and thermal calculations for high-temperature equipment and piping systems
Participate in equipment upgrades and capital improvement projects
Support the Preventive Maintenance (PM) program for rotating equipment, conveyors, fans, and combustion systems
Assist in conducting root cause analysis (RCA) for equipment failures
Help maintain maintenance logs, work orders, and equipment records
Participate in scheduled plant shutdowns and turnaround activities
Assist in monitoring emissions control systems including scrubbers, baghouse filters, and selective catalytic reduction (SCR) units
Support compliance with environmental regulations (EPA, local air quality standards)
Participate in safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments
Strictly adhere to all plant safety protocols, OSHA standards, and PPE requirements
Prepare technical reports, engineering calculations, and project documentation
Assist in developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintenance manuals
Present findings and project updates to the engineering team and management
Assist engineers in monitoring and optimizing incineration plant operations and thermal processes
Support the inspection and maintenance of high-temperature combustion systems, boilers, and heat exchangers
Help evaluate plant performance data and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements
Assist in troubleshooting mechanical failures and equipment malfunctions on the plant floor
Requirements
Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Bachelor’s degree program in: Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Environmental Engineering (or closely related field)
Minimum GPA of 3.0 preferred
