Prior engineering (or similar) internship or coop experience
Working understanding of mechanical engineering concepts: statics, dynamics, stress, materials, machine design, etc.
Working understanding of mechanical design concepts: FBD’s, stress analysis, etc.
Experience using CAD software, SolidWorks and/or Creo preferred
Basic hands-on experience: hand tools, machine assembly, debugging mechanical systems, etc.
Ability to work independently and as a part of a team

Job Responsibility

Assisting with design tasks (CAD development, analysis, component selection)
High level mathematical and model simulations (fluid, thermal, structural)
Participating in brainstorm discussion and concept development
Hands-on prototype development, rework, and assembly
Design and assembly of test equipment
Test implementation, data analysis, and technical documentation
Presenting to interdisciplinary internal and client teams

Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or a Mining Engineering (MinE), Mechanical Engineering (ME), Electrical Engineering (EE), Industrial Engineering (IE), or other related engineering discipline
Bachelor’s/master’s degree to be/recently completed between December 2026 – May 2029

Job Responsibility

Gain experience in Operations Leadership and/or Maintenance & Reliability Engineering role
Work both underground with engineers and crews on active projects and on surface supporting our people and infrastructure
Learn mining techniques such as surveying and mapping, room and pillar mining operations, mineral processing, water management, materials handling, and mining safety best practices
Work hand in hand with other team members on engineering work, and champion their own projects
Learn how to safely operate and automate equipment
Learn to develop and implement best practices in maintenance and design by working with electric powered mining equipment, hoisting systems, pumps, conveyor belts, screening equipment, and other systems
Lead people, process, and input/product in a mining environment
Be involved in day-to-day direct supervision of operators and production activities and participate in daily production management meetings
Learn how to comprehend and handle all aspects of MSHA federal regulations and compliance programs including environmental, health, safety, maintenance, and housekeeping
Develop teams of production employees
