As a Mechanical Engineer in our Vehicle HW & QA team, you will play a key role in the development of our next‑generation hardware, ensuring it meets our high standards of repairability, reliability and performance. You will work end to end with our suppliers, taking a lead on requirement and specification setting, testing and verification, and design reviews. You will also create and review detailed mechanical drawings and CAD models, especially for assemblies where Voi needs to take design ownership. Job Responsibility:
Drive end‑to‑end co‑development of hardware with suppliers, ensuring alignment with Voi’s mechanical requirements, specifications and quality targets
Create, review and maintain mechanical drawings and CAD models, and work with suppliers on assemblies where Voi takes design control
Evaluate and verify supplier designs through design reviews, teardowns, testing and verification activities to safeguard performance, quality and reliability
Perform hands‑on assessments and drive design improvements with a strong focus on reliability, repairability, serviceability
Investigate in‑field failures after launch, determine root causes and implement mitigation and resolution actions together with suppliers and internal teams
Collaborate closely with colleagues in Vehicle HW & QA, IoT & Vehicle SW, procurement, supply chain, QA and local market teams to deliver seamless solutions
Travel regularly (e.g. quarterly) to China and occasionally to Voi markets in Europe for close collaboration with suppliers and hands‑on fieldwork
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in an engineering discipline, ideally mechanical, or equivalent practical experience
Strong experience working end to end with suppliers (ideally Chinese) and the mechanical development process, including requirement setting, testing and verification, and design reviews
Excellent skills in CAD, CAE and FEA, including creating and reviewing high‑quality mechanical drawings and driving design improvements for repairability, serviceability and reliability
Experience with structured quality and risk tools such as DFMEA, PFMEA and reliability testing, and translating findings into concrete design or process changes
Proven ability to collaborate crossfunctionally and to manage multiple projects in parallel
Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills
