Mechanical Engineer

• Collaborate with Design & Project Leads on conceptual designs, addressing potential issues and code requirements
• Prepare, review, and refine design briefs, drawings, and specifications
• Assess and compare equipment design costs
• Act as a technical advisor to the project team
• Conduct engineering reviews to ensure compliance with codes and standards
• seal work accordingly
• Oversee project milestones, provide progress updates, and ensure timely, budget-conscious delivery
• Develop alternative solutions and respond to permit comments
• Support project hand-off to Construction Services, assisting with verification requirements
• Provide construction support and site reviews as needed

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited Canadian University, or equivalent is required
• Registration as a licensed Professional Engineer with the Professional Engineers of Ontario is required
• 5+ years of relevant experience in Mechanical Engineering, specifically related to HVAC & Plumbing construction industry or equivalent required
• Substantial knowledge of pertinent codes and standards (O.B.C., CSA Standards, ASHRAE etc.)
• Experience in the design of mechanical systems commonly used in multi-unit residential buildings, or similar, is required
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and AutoCAD suites

Experience in private sector works, specifically working with private sector developers is considered an asset
