ATI is seeking to hire a Mechanical Engineer to support maintenance operations at our Brackenridge, PA location. This role will be focused on both our Hot Rolling Processing Facility and Melt Shop, as well as related facilities equipment and a machine shop. This will include drafting, creating/designing components, and mechanical design.
Job Responsibility:
Provide engineering expertise and support for maintaining equipment
Engineer and coordinate mechanical projects and interface with outside vendors in the process to design and implement cost effective and timely upgrades to equipment
Develop standard operating procedures to improve maintenance quality and reduce or eliminate problems
Seek opportunities to solve problems to the root cause, eliminating future failures
Initiate improvements to the equipment
Use data to evaluate highest frequency of failures and then develop strategies to mitigate the problem
Troubleshoot and inspect problems, analyze and resolve issues accurately and efficiently
Use predictive technology to drive equipment reliability
Seek opportunities to improve upon the maintenance and engineering program
Utilize the RCM process to ensure the plant's equipment reliability and performance functions as required to assist the plant in producing the required level of quality and targeted Cost of Quality
Provide and direct technical engineering expertise to other plant engineers, technicians, hourly craft personnel, etc
Order and maintain parts for plant machinery and equipment
Review and approve engineering and equipment information to include drawings, data, etc., either supplied by outside vendors or in-house engineering
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electro-mechanical engineering, mechatronics, or related field
Ability to work with and lead a diverse and represented hourly workforce
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Exceptional organization and planning skills
Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office
Ability to quickly pick up on computerized maintenance management software (CMMS) and use effectively with a planning process to improve down day repairs
This is a daylight position, However, must have the ability to work shifts, including weekends, as required
Candidates should have a strong work ethic and the ability to work in a highly motivated team environment
