The Mechanical Project Engineer will provide technical knowledge, guidance and support to deliver projects, ensuring that all actions, activities and outputs underpin the integrity, expertise and competency of the company.
Job Responsibility:
Respond to client or colleague enquiries and take necessary actions to develop an effective engineering solution
Production of concept, scheme and detailed design documentation
Production of underpinning design calculations and analytical assessments
Production of engineering reports
Provision of relevant data, theory, formulae or standards to support design, manufacture, installation or equipment test
Self checking of all documentation prior to submitting for formal check and review
Originate, prepare and deliver project documentation and engineering design deliverables
Provide technical oversight to sub-contract packages of work
Attend and contribute to engineering/project meetings
Attend and participate in sub-contract/client design reviews
Check and review engineering and project deliverables and outputs and provide constructive feedback
Bid support
Communicate effectively with all members
Requirements:
Educated to degree level or equivalent in a technical discipline - Essential
Understanding of the Project lifecycle and how projects are delivered within NSG - Essential
Basic understanding of the UK Nuclear Industry - Essential
Competent user of MS Office - Essential
Ability to organise own work and effectively delivery under the guidance of a Project Manager - Essential
Ability to prepare and present reports, documentation and information in support of project delivery - Essential
Ability to interpret and evaluate technical data - Essential
Ability to communicate with a wide range of colleagues at all levels and with external stakeholders and contractors - Essential
Knowledge of ISO 9001 / 14001 & 45001 - Essential
Membership of appropriate technical / professional body - Desirable
Understanding of the radiological controls used within the type of projects delivered by NSG - Desirable
Used to dealing with confidential and commercial information - Desirable
Familiar with integrated management system operating procedures and requirements etc - Desirable
IOSH Managing Safely or formal H & S qualification - Relevant training will be provided if required
