Job Responsibility:
Preventive and predictive maintenance: Develop, implement, and track preventative maintenance schedules to maximize equipment uptime and minimize breakdowns
Troubleshooting and repair: Diagnose and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues in a timely manner
Installation and upgrades: Recommend and implement upgrades or modifications to improve equipment performance and reliability
Safety and compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations, including OSHA and EPA standards
Record-keeping: Maintain detailed and accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment history, often using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
Collaboration: Work with production, operations, and management teams to coordinate maintenance schedules and support projects
Leadership: Lead the mechanical maintenance crew in the absence of the supervisor
Planning: Develop job planning and project planning skills to assist with outage planning
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
Candidate must have a deep understanding of mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
Ability to work in challenging environments
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Excellent computer skills with computer-based maintenance software such as SAP, MS Office and scheduling software
Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
Nice to have:
It is preferred that the candidate have 2-6 years of experience working in an industrial mill as a Mechanical/ Maintenance Engineer
Experience on projects with an operating company or engineering firm as part of a team is considered an asset
Experience in construction management and/or maintenance experience in industrial/process plant environment
