We are currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer with a P.E. license to conduct field investigations and perform forensic engineering & failure/accident analysis on incidents involving all types of machinery, mechanical equipment and devices including cranes, presses, pressure vessels and hydraulic, pneumatic, HVAC, gas, plumbing systems, etc. The candidate must have mechanical and materials failure analysis experience and a thorough understanding and knowledge of HVAC, and Fire Protection system analysis and design experience(residential, commercial, industrial).
Job Responsibility:
Investigate and analyze mechanical devices, products and designs
Conduct field investigations to document onsite conditions
Perform forensic engineering & failure/accident analysis of all types of machinery, mechanical equipment and devices including HVAC, gas, plumbing systems, cranes, presses, pressure vessels and hydraulic, pneumatic, etc.
Assist with vehicle accident reconstruction
Provide technical findings and conclusions, both verbally and in written reports
Deliver professional presentations, develop client relationships and promote self to client groups
Support conclusions by appropriate testimony in legal proceedings
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops
reviewing professional publications

participating in professional societies
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree required, Masters Degree preferred in Mechanical Engineering or related field
10+ years experience
NCEES record preferred
P.E. license in state applying - ABSOLUTE REQUIREMENT
Forensic experience/exposure preferred
Knowledge of machine design and mechanical, HVAC, gas, plumbing systems
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Nice to have:
Product liability analysis experience
Identifying subrogation potential
Familiarity in dealing with attorneys, insurance claims professionals, and corporate liability and risk management personnel
