Job Description

The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for supporting the design and development of lithium-ion battery modules and packs. The position requires review and analysis of component requirements, executing and evaluating designs, performing design analysis, overseeing MCAD design, supporting DV/PV testing, and supporting complex engineering projects. This position will consult with managers as needed.

Job Responsibility

  • Supporting and designing new products and components including plastic injection molded parts, die castings, investment castings, stampings, machined components, etc.
  • Working collaboratively with manufacturing to ensure designs are feasible from a manufacturing viewpoint
  • Supporting validation in identifying root cause and corrective action on test failures
  • Identifying and implementing VAVE cost reductions
  • Conducting experiments methodically, analyzing data and interpreting results
  • Working with: Automotive design
  • Root cause analysis
  • Drawing Dimensioning using GD&T and conducting tolerance stack-up analysis
  • developing and tracing of requirements

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • Alternatively, will accept a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related field plus 3 years of experience in the field of automotive engineering
  • Hands on knowledge of 3D CAD, such as Creo, NX, SolidWorks, or Catia
  • Experience in FEA for stress, and structural analysis
  • deep mechanical aptitude, including a broad knowledge of engineering materials, mechanical properties and an understanding of the manufacturing processes associated with these materials
  • Experience in mechanism design and executing design fixes to optimize performance and manufacturability
  • Ability to communicate technical knowledge in a clear and understandable manner

  • collaborating closely with validation, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality engineering teams
