Job Description

Mechanical Engineering Intern for Summer 2026 at our manufacturing facility located in Seagoville, TX. Dexter is the premier manufacturer and supplier of axles, suspension, brakes, doors, venting products, trailer parts, accessories, and towing components serving the commercial trailer, RV, heavy-duty, marine, agriculture, and manufactured housing markets.

Job Responsibility

  • Assist the Dexter Team with engineering project identification, project support, and project leadership by partnering and collaborating with the Engineering Team and Site Team
  • Assist with engineering support for all aspects associated with the design, manufacturing, assembly, and validation to ensure functionality, quality, cost, and timing
  • Work on robust, hands-on projects
  • Potential projects may include: Production Support
  • Project Management
  • Mechanical Design
  • Process Development
  • Continuous Improvement
  • Project definition, scoping, and documented project plan
  • Capital projects
  • Safety improvements
  • Automation
  • Troubleshooting equipment and processes
  • Project estimation
  • Create documents, drawings, training as needed to support and complete project(s)

Requirements

  • Actively enrolled in an accredited university working towards a bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering degree
  • Excellent sense of ethics and accountability
  • Enthusiasm and a passion for engineering and manufacturing
