Job Description:

Job Responsibility:

  • Design complete mechanical HVAC systems for building projects
  • Evaluate existing conditions and conduct project measure-ups
  • Collaborate with clients to define project goals and resources
  • Perform code analysis and ensure design compliance
  • Develop project in regard to engineering scope, budget, and schedule
  • Create and coordinate Revit models using existing documentation
  • Prepare engineering contract documents and calculations using CADD and HVAC design software
  • Select appropriate materials, equipment, and components
  • Perform technical and coordination checking of project documents
  • Develop project specifications and supporting documentation
  • Perform quantity take-offs and prepare cost estimates
  • Stay current with mechanical codes and standards
  • Review submittals during construction and conduct site visits to ensure compliance with design documents

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in mechanical (HVAC) design working in the A/E industry
  • Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD for HVAC design
  • EIT certification required
  • NYS PE license preferred or active participation in a licensure development program
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Working knowledge of the International Building Code
  • U.S. Citizenship required due to potential access to classified information
