Job Description:
You’ll be working on UK Military man-carrying precision parachutes, which are highly technical systems used for the training and operational requirements of specialised UK military personnel and are managed as part of the Airborne Equipment portfolio. You’ll use your detailed engineering knowledge of ram-air parachute system functionality and maintenance management, delivering activity against Engineering Management Plans, including engagement with various stakeholders, to ensure systems are safe by design and remain safe to operate.
Job Responsibility:
Contributing to and delivering the engineering management of Precision Parachuting systems and associated supporting information.
Ensuring equipment-based technical risks are understood and managed.
Participating in design reviews, safety management, and safety case activities.
Ensuring compliance with regulatory policies and engineering procedures.
Developing and maintaining system requirements including in-service support, equipment modification, and maintenance policies.
Communicating with industry as the intelligent customer both in a scrutiny role and supporting the delivery of safe systems.
Managing defined technical meetings with our customers and industry partners.
Managing systems’ policy, technical and procedural publications.
Liaising with various stakeholder communities and the Engineering Authority to align approvals and in-service support projects.
Requirements:
Lead Criterion – Experience of providing technical advice and delivery of successful Mechanical or Mechatronic outcomes.
As a minimum hold either: A Science, Technology, Engineering, and/or Mathematics based qualification at RQF Level 6
OR A Science, Technology, Engineering, and/or Mathematics based qualification at RQF Level 4, together with a current Engineering Technician (EngTech) professional registration (or higher level).
OR A Science, Technology, Engineering, and/or Mathematics based qualification at RQF Level 3, plus a minimum of 3 further years of relevant professional experience.
OR With a Professional body/institution related to your discipline, hold current professional registration at Engineering Technician (EngTech) (or higher level), plus a minimum of 3 further years of relevant professional experience.
