Job Description:

Reinbold Engineering Group is a national mechanical engineering firm specializing in designing HVAC and plumbing Mechanical design for commercial, healthcare, institutional, residential, and mixed-use high-rise projects. Currently, we are seeking a REVIT Mechanical Designer for our Calgary office as we expand and grow.

Job Responsibility:

  • Placing and sizing of distribution systems and equipment following industry standards
  • Perform load calculations using the company-provided software
  • Selection of mechanical equipment working directly with suppliers and manufacturers
  • Preparation of schematic design, design development and construction documents in either AutoCAD or REVIT, and adhere to Reinbold Design Standards and Guidelines
  • Assist with Contract Administration, including shop drawing review, RFI responses and on-site review
  • May attend design and construction meetings with the client, other consultants and the contractors

Requirements:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering and accreditation as a Professional Engineer: P. Eng. or PE in the jurisdiction in which they are working is an asset
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant industry experience
  • Canadian experience in mechanical HVAC and Plumbing design is a must
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including plumbing, HVAC, heating, cooling, and air handlers. Ability to interpret construction drawings
  • Strong knowledge of current codes and standards, such as the local plumbing and local building codes
  • Experience using building heating and cooling load calculations
  • Understanding of software programs (Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, REVIT)

Nice to have:

Degree in Mechanical Engineering and accreditation as a Professional Engineer: P. Eng. or PE in the jurisdiction in which they are working is an asset
