Job Responsibility

  • Design custom automated equipment using SolidWorks
  • Create detailed manufacturing drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
  • Perform engineering calculations related to structural integrity, force, speed, and material selection
  • Review mechanical designs for manufacturability, tolerances, machining methods, and finishes
  • Support reverse engineering activities using precision measuring equipment
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable industry and safety standards
  • Work closely with Mechanical Engineers, Electrical Designers, Machinists, Toolmakers, Fabricators, and Project Teams throughout the design and build process
  • Communicate design updates, engineering changes, and project progress with internal stakeholders

Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or a related discipline
  • 7+ years of mechanical design experience within custom automation or industrial machinery
  • Strong proficiency with SolidWorks
  • Experience designing custom machinery, automated production equipment, robotics, or special-purpose machines
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, GD&T, manufacturing processes, and machine design
  • Experience working in automation, packaging, material handling, automotive manufacturing, or industrial equipment is considered an asset
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, N299, or NQA-1 standards is an asset
