Known for delivering cutting-edge machinery solutions, our client is looking for a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join their dynamic team and drive innovation from concept to completion. Based in Malaysia. The Role Reporting directly to the Design Manager, you will be a key player in the full mechanical design lifecycle. This isn’t just a desk job, you’ll be involved in everything from initial concept generation to testing the final machine performance.
Job Responsibility:
Conceptual & Detailed Design: Generate high-quality conceptual designs and detailed technical drawings for complex machinery
System Integration: Perform hands-on hardware integration of various subsystems onto the machines
Testing & Evaluation: Rigorously evaluate machine performance to ensure it meets technical specifications
Project Lifecycle Management: Oversee projects from conception to delivery, ensuring they remain on schedule and within budget
Technical Documentation: Maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOM), update revisions, and author comprehensive machine manuals and spare parts lists
Supply Chain Liaison: Follow up on fabricated and standard parts, and liaise with suppliers for specialized or urgent requests
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with software developers, electrical engineers, and project managers to ensure seamless integration and successful project outcomes
Requirements:
Education: A Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, or a related field
Experience: Ideally 3+ years of experience specifically within automation design
Software Proficiency: Strong skills in SolidWorks for mechanical design and documentation are highly preferred
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders
Adaptability: The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while managing multiple time-sensitive priorities
