Job Description

This is a great opportunity for an experienced and ambitious Mechanically minded technician to join a well established company, who are now going through a period of expansion. You will be working the double days shift and have the opportunity to work on a wide range of tasks and improve your skills, working closely with the Electrical teams.

Job Responsibility

  • Carry out the mechanical assembly of advanced technology products
  • Contribute to creating and updating documentation that supports Lean manufacturing practices
  • Adhere to all requirements outlined in the Bill of Materials (BOM)
  • Complete assigned tasks effectively while keeping the Team Leader informed of any material shortages, technical challenges, and actions taken to minimize disruption to production timelines
  • Troubleshoot and resolve assembly issues

Requirements

  • Previous mechanical fitting experience
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings
  • Ability to fault find and implement corrective action
  • Happy working shifts

  • Assemble mechanical components of wind turbines using hand tools, power tools, and overhead cranes
  • Follow detailed work instructions and engineering drawings to ensure accurate builds
  • Perform torquing, alignment, and fit-up of large components such as gearboxes, bearings, and shafts
  • Conduct safety inspections and maintain a clean, organized work area to present work related injuries
  • Exceed our production benchmarks by completing specific tasks within the designated timeframe
  • Handle materials by lifting, positioning, and/or removing them from the work area as needed
  • Collaborate with quality and engineering teams to improve assembly processes
  • Participate in internal audits and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support other production areas as needed and as assigned by the supervisor
  • In coordination with PQA and Engineering Departments, conduct root cause analysis and troubleshooting of potential production problems
