Job Description:

This position involves the interpretation of manufacturing documents in order to assemble, fit and install prefabricated parts or modify basic components in a manufacturing plant. Responsibilities include leading projects of moderate complexity, ensuring quality standards, and maintaining accuracy of processes.

Job Responsibility:

  • Ability to act as assembly project lead on low to moderate complexity projects
  • Direct work of MO2 assemblers, ensuring quality and accountability for low to moderate assembly projects
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, as well as Oracle Bill of Materials
  • Utilize 3D model viewing software and Microsoft Office products for emailing, e-turnbacks, etc.
  • Flex to other departments as necessary
  • Resolve discrepancies in parts with supervisor
  • Escalate drawing concerns
  • Repair and modify errors detected by test/inspection
  • Work to CSA and UL code
  • Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the internal KANBAN process
  • Apply consistency in assembly method for units on the same order
  • Conduct visual inspections for conformance to drawings/specifications
  • Clean and prepare unit for testing process
  • Check performance of components to meet quality standards
  • Perform pack and ship duties
  • Use various fixtures, gauges, and assembly tools to assemble, adjust or repair product
  • Perform other duties as required

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in assembly in a manufacturing environment
  • Completed High School Diploma or equivalency
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds independently and up to 50 pounds with assistance using proper/safe lifting techniques
  • Must currently reside within 80 KM of Milton, ON to be considered
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada without company sponsorship now and in the future

Nice to have:

  • Experience in assembly or repair of products
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing processes and Six Sigma Tools
  • Basic computer skills & knowledge of Oracle functions
  • Ability to train others effectively
  • Consistently demonstrates a high quality of work
  • Demonstrates a high level of engagement in CI culture
  • Good communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in problem-solving, mathematical skills, computer and troubleshooting ability
