Job Description:

Randstad Canada is hiring for Mechanical Assembler position in the Edmonton area for one of our leading clients in the electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing industry. Reporting to the Production Manager, this position involves operating, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance of the Manual Powder Coat system, along with spray-painting processes, material handling, and electrical assembly of materials handling equipment projects.

Job Responsibility:

Review and interpret drawings and schematics
Inspect all components prior to assembly for visual defects and damage
Build and troubleshoot complex assemblies using drawings, schematics and process plans
Use various fixtures, gauges, and assembly tools to assemble, adjust, or repair product
Review mechanical performance of completed assemblies to ensure compliance to quality standards and make necessary adjustments
Follow Eaton 5S Processes for Material Maintenance and Inventory Management
Actively support the EPC Safety, 5S Processes, and Continuous Improvement initiatives
Maintain work areas in a clean, orderly and safe manner
Reporting to the Team Lead, Mechanical on work-related activities on a regular basis
Perform other duties as assigned, including assisting fabrication and wiring teams when necessary

Requirements:

Completion of High School or GED equivalent is required
Diploma in electrical or mechanical engineering considered an asset
Ability to lift heavy materials
Must be authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship now or in the future

Nice to have:

1 year of experience in the assembly or repair of product in a manufacturing environment
Prior experience in testing electrical control assemblies considered an asset
Forklift/overhead crane certification considered an asset
