To provide technical support to British Airways and its customer airlines in a manner that provides safe, efficient and cost-effective aircraft maintenance.
Job Responsibility:
Prepare the ramp for the arrival, transit and subsequent departure of aircraft
Perform scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance tasks under the supervision of the Duty Engineer
Ensure all tasks performed are in accordance with the applicable Approved Technical Publications, Line Maintenance Procedures and Health and Safety Manuals
Correctly complete all documentation relevant to the role prior to aircraft departure and in accordance with the approved procedures manuals
Monitor all ground equipment and vehicles to ensure full serviceability
Continuously monitor all health and safety requirements in accordance with the Health and Safety Manuals and report all deficiencies
Good housekeeping. Ensure the ramp area and engineering facility is clean and tidy at all times
Monitor all working practices and report all incidents and accidents
Assist the duty engineer with Risk Assessments
When required, carry out the functions of subordinate grades
Assist the duty engineer to administer British Airways and Customer technical publication systems to the requirements of their respective Quality Assurance departments
Assist the duty engineer to ensure that all aspects of British Airways and customer airlines Quality Assurance requirements are met
Assist the duty engineer to action any discrepancies resulting from incident reports or audits within laid down timescales
Exercise a degree of control over station costs to achieve budgeted targets
Ensure correct procedures are followed with regard to all operational communications e.g. telexes and faxes
Control and administer spares and equipment as required
Requirements:
Good written and spoken English
Aeronautical Mechanics Qualification (FAA A and P Certificate)
Minimum 5 years Mechanical or Electrical experience in a different industry
Experience working in an aircraft maintenance or similar environment
Experience of working within the scope of legal regulations and company requirements
Valid US driving license
Ability to hold airport zone restricted access
